Joseph Alan Lewis

Joseph Alan Lewis, 68,of Rockville and formerly of Veedersburg IN passed away Tuesday December 27, 2022 at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN.

Joe was born August 30, 1954 in Indianapolis, IN the son of Lonnie Lee Lewis and Patricia Louise (Minton) Henderson. He married Debra S. Brewer February 17, 1979, they were married 38 years prior to their divorce.

Along with his parents and Debra, surviving family include four children, Staci (Chad) Heide, Waynetown; Brian Joe (Jennifer) Lewis, Roopville, GA; Joseph Alan Lewis Jr., Veedersburg; Brittany (Joshua) Hopkins, Oakwood, IL; two brothers, Michael E Lewis, Rockville; Marcus L. (Sharon) Lewis, Montezuma; four sisters, Joyce A. Foreman-See, Montezuma; Pamela Sue Martin; Montezuma; Melinda Jo Cipriano, Montezuma; April R. (Mike) Askren, Montezuma; eight grandchildren, Skyler Heide, L.J. Smith, Hana Heide, Haley Heide, Isabella Rose Lewis, Kayla Lewis, Jacob Lewis, Griffin Hopkins; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Lewis, and Elena.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Lewis; infant brother, Lonnie Lewis Jr.; two infant grandchildren, Finley Hopkins, and Quinn Hopkins.

Joe was self-employed most of his life in the Heating & Cooling Business, Home Construction; and as a mechanic. In his spare time he enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.

 Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday December 31, 2022 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg, IN. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday and continue until the time of service. Burial at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
