Leiton F West

Leiton was born July 16, 1933 in Newport IN the son of Ralph and Flossie (Foreman) West. He married Glenda Kilgore August 25, 1956 in Cayuga. Surviving family include his wife Glenda West, Covington; a daughter, Kim West, Covington; a son Bruce (Loretta) West, Lafayette; a brother Paul (Ruth) West, Newport; granddaughter Kylee Beth Hohenstein, Cayuga; and two great-grandchildren, Bexley & Ellery Hohenstein. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Wayne West, and a sister Mary (West) Callahan. Leiton graduated from Newport High School in 1951. After high school he served his country in the US Army, stationed in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion Post #184 in Newport. Leiton & Glenda owned and operated West Grocery in Newport for 26 years. He enjoyed being outdoors working in his garden and taking care of his yard. Private family graveside service will be held at Thomas Cemetery near Newport, IN with Pastor Garland Pannell officiating.
