Leon Clarence Snyder, 74, of Hillsboro, IN passed away at his residence Friday morning October 11, 2019 with his family at his side.
Leon was born February 3, 1945 in Hillsboro the son of Clarence L. and Beatrice Mildred (Hutts) Snyder. He married Pamela Jeanne Dillon October 16, 1965 in Crawfordsville, IN.
Surviving family include his wife, Pam Snyder, Hillsboro; a daughter, Crystal (Rance) Grubb, Hillsboro; a son Ryan (Jodi) Snyder, Covington; a brother, Dwight R. Snyder, Hillsboro; four grandsons, Blake (Lacey) Conrad-Snyder, Ethan Snyder, Carter Snyder, Catlen Grubb; and a great-granddaughter, Adilyn Conrad-Snyder.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Franklin Snyder.
Leon graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1963; and he had served his country in the US Army National Guard. He was a long-time member of the Covington First Baptist Church. He was employed for several years at TeePak in Danville IL; and had also been employed as custodian for several area schools and churches. He loved his pets and enjoyed spending time in his barn taking care of his animals. More than anything he loved and enjoyed his family, and he cherished the time he had to spend with them.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM (EDT) Thursday October 17, 2019 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Dr. Homer Faucett officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM (EDT) Thursday at the funeral home and continue until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
