Linda Fay Holycross

Linda Fay Holycross, 73, of Veedersburg IN, passed away 1:10 AM Sunday March 17, 2024 at Gibson Family Hospice Center in Terre Haute, IN.

Linda was born April 4, 1950 in Clinton IN the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Norma (Newnum) Allen. She married Darrell L. Holycross March 25, 1989; he preceded her in death August 18, 2019.

She is also preceded in death by a sister, Anita Spain.

Surviving family include a special niece, Kim (Brian) Vincent, Veedersburg; a daughter, America (Sahib Ali) Newnum, Indianapolis; step-daughter, Jaime (J.C.) Crane, Crawfordsville; step-son, Daniel Holycross, Crawfordsville; sister, Loretta (Mike) Suiters, Covington;  brother, Andrew (Janette) Allen, Rockville; sisters,  Laura (Dennis) Black, Covington; Mary (Jack) Bowling, Covington; brother-in-law, Gary Spain, Ohio; grandchildren, Dylon Holycross, Cadence Crane, Jayce Crane, Bailey Crane; and several nieces and nephews. .

Linda was blessed to have many special friends in her life including Joe (Sandy) Whitaker, Christy (Steve) Kruger, Donna Honaker, Tracy (Geoff) Canfield, and Linda Whitaker. Linda loved the Lord and was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Covington where she enjoyed being involved in many different ladies groups.

Linda graduated from Turkey Run High School in 1968, and Indiana State University in 1972. She was employed as an Insurance Agent for many years at The Fountain Trust Company in Covington. She enjoyed researching genealogy, sewing and working on various crafts.

Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday March 26, 2024 at Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington, IN with Pastor Dusty Woodrow officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Widow’s Benevolence Fund at First Baptist Church in Covington. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
