Marilyn J. Leas, 78, formerly of Veedersburg, IN passed away 11:15PM Sunday May 19, 2019 at Baptist Health in Louisville, KY.

She was born February 25, 1941 in Danville IL the daughter of Kenneth Ward and June Alberta (Glover) Gross.

Surviving family include a son, Forrest B. Leas (fiancé Lisa Paugsch), Leesville, SC; daughter, Terrie Leas O’Riley (husband Edward), Louisville, KY; brother, Kenneth Lee Gross (wife Shanon), Clayton, GA; three granddaughters, Jessica Leas, Hannah Leas (fiancé Austin Hayes), and Julia Whitaker; two great-grandchildren Bryce Derrick, and Jackson Hayes; two nephews, Daniel (wife, Tiffany) Gross, Montgomery, TX, and Jason (wife, Lena) Gross, Monument, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, David Neal Hoffman.

Marilyn graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1959; she was a retired rural carrier for the US Post Office in Veedersburg, where she had worked for many years.  Her passion in life was Purdue Athletics, caring for her small farm, and her love for pets, the family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be given to the humane society in memory of Marilyn.

Graveside service will be 3:00PM Friday May 24, 2019 at Osborn Prairie Cemetery near Veedersburg with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Services entrusted to Dickerson Funeral Home. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
