Michael D Mitchell

Michael Doral Mitchell, 72, of Veedersburg, passed away Saturday March 24, 2018 at IU Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. Mike was born April 10, 1945 in Veedersburg the son of Doral Eugene and Delores May (Ballah) Mitchell. Surviving family include two daughters, Staci (Greg) Pierce, Veedersburg; Brittany (Justin) Hoffa, Kingman; a son Michael Mitchell, Veedersburg; two sisters, Camilla Robinson, Veedersburg; Cassie (Frank) Hall, Veedersburg; eight grandchildren, Shelbi, Tanner, Koby, Taylor, Layne, Bailey, Jaiden, Lincoln; and four great-grandchildren, Bryleigh, Zoey, Raiden, Jaxson. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rhonda Mitchell. Mike graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1963, after high school he served his country in the US Army being stationed in Germany.  He had retired from General Motors in Danville IL after many years of employment.  He was a member of the Sterling Christian Church and American Legion Post #288 in Veedersburg. During his lifetime Mike had enjoyed playing golf and mushrooming. He was an avid IU sports fan and also enjoyed Indianapolis Colts football.  He enjoyed and was also aggravated by the Pac-Man video game, having gone through many Pac-Man gaming devices in recent years. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday March 29, 2018 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM Thursday and continue until the time of the service. Burial will be at Bonebrake Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #288.
