Ralph Fletcher III, 77, of Veedersburg, passed away 2:23PM Thursday September 24, 2020 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Ralph was born July 22, 1943 in Lafayette, Indiana the son of Ralph “Dick” and Lois Gertrude (Rennick) Fletcher Jr. He married Saundra K. Mason February 26, 1968 in Newman, Illinois.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Matthew Wayne Fletcher; a daughter, Candace Ann Fletcher Ferguson; a sister, Lois Diane Reese; two brothers, William Richard Fletcher, and Francis Warren Fletcher.
Surviving family include his wife, Saundra K. Fletcher, Veedersburg; a son, Brian Wayne (Kim) Fletcher, Waynetown; two sisters, Regina Baker, Newman, IL; Nellie Cox, Newman, IL; a brother, Thomas Clifford (Sharon) Fletcher, Tilton, IL; a son in law, Wendall Ferguson, Lafayette; a grandson, Jamal Collin Ferguson; a granddaughter, Jaelyn Sophia Ferguson; two step grandsons, three step great grandchildren; and a step great grandson Collin, along with his mother Brittni.
Ralph graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1961, he then served his country in the US Army 1962-1965. He was employed with the Teamsters Local #26 for over 40 years, driving for USF Holland out of Danville, IL. He enjoyed watching sporting events, with his favorite teams being the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, and the Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and enjoyed family dinners.
Visitation will be 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday October 2, 2020 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg, IN; military honors will be given at 1:00PM to conclude the visitation by the US Army and American Legion Post#288. Burial will be at Bonebrake Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
