Raymond Dean Butts

Raymond Dean Butts, 88, of Bartlett, Illinois passed away at his residence 12:10 AM Thursday November 24, 2022 with his family at his side.

Dean was born October 23, 1934 in Veedersburg, IN the son of Earl and Fleda (Brewer) Butts. He married Eloise Clara Pipkorn November 3, 1952 in Sterling, IN; she preceded him in death April 1, 2013.

He is also preceded in death by two sisters, Mable Jones, and Alice Bowman.

Surviving family includes three sons, Lloyd (Marianne) Butts, Bartlett, IL; Dean (Bonnie) Butts, WI; Dale (Diane) Butts, Bensenville, IL; two daughters, Cheryl (Grover) Bowman, Bartlett, IL; Lynn (Casey) Labedzki, Carol Stream, IL;  a sister, Ruth Williams, Veedersburg, IN; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.

Dean was employed for over 30 years at Lake Park High School as supervisor of grounds and maintenance. He will be remembered as a guy who could fix practically anything. Dean was always friendly and eager to engage anyone in conversation; having never met a stranger. He was a very strong man who was able to push through most every tough circumstance with his persistent strong will and determination. He will also be remembered by his family as the one who made every holiday very special.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM (EST) Wednesday November 30, 2022 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg, IN. Visitation will begin 11:00 AM (EST) Wednesday and continue until the time of service at 1:00. Burial will be at Osborn Prairie Cemetery near Veedersburg.
