Retha Lucille Meeker

Retha Lucille Meeker, 88, formerly of Veedersburg, passed away peacefully at the Waters of Covington, 5:45 AM January 29, 2025.

Lucille was born February 27, 1936 in Covington, IN the daughter of Lewis Allen and Josephine ((Ellis) Coonse. She married Donald “Zane” Meeker March 29, 1958; he preceded her in death February 27, 2015.

She is also preceded in death by an infant son, Butchie Powell, three sisters, and two brothers.

Surviving family include two daughters, Teresa (John) Bushue, Covington; Stephanie (Dyrl) Beardsley, Kingman; a son, Tim (Missy) Meeker, Attica; a brother, Dusty Coonse, Danville, IL; a sister, Karen Wire, Tilton, IL; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Per Lucille’s request there will be no public services; she will be laid to rest next to her husband Zane at Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington.
