Richard Lee “Cubbie” Kelley, 83, of Stone Bluff, IN passed away 9:45 AM Wednesday February 7, 2018 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. Richard was born April 24, 1934 in Yeddo, IN the son of Leland Charles and Mildred Irene (Hoagland) Kelley. He married Martha J. Hayman December 3, 1953 in Newtown, IN; she preceded him in death December 26, 2000. He is also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Kenneth & Jerry Kelley; and a sister, Janice Murphy. Surviving family include two sons, Richard Lynn Kelley, Veedersburg; Mark Alan Kelley, Stone Bluff; two daughters, Nancy J. (Ron) Butler, Attica; Marsha Diane (Greg) June, Easley, S.C.; a great aunt, Alice Krecek; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Kelley, Joshua Kelley, Jennifer (Jeremy) Wise, Jonathan (Heather) Kelley, Ashley Kelley (Grant Gargett), Nick June, Kyle June; five great-grandchildren, Ethan & Deven Wise, Kayce & Clayton Kelley, and Caleb Kelley. Richard graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1952. He was employed at Olin/Flexel near Covington in 1962 and retired from there in 1995. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether that involved mushrooming, hunting for arrowheads, or hunting with his metal detector along with his buddy Rex Stone. He was a life-long Cubs fan and greatly enjoyed watching them win their recent national championship. He was also an IU Basketball fan and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. He enjoyed having coffee and visiting with his friends at the local restaurants, more than anything he loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. Funeral service - 10:00 AM Monday February 12, 2018 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor John Noel officiating. Visitation 4:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday February 11, 2018 at the funeral home.
