Richard Allen Phelps

Richard Allen “Dickie” Phelps, 63, of Veedersburg, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence Saturday October 2, 2021. 

Dickie was born August 12, 1958 in Danville, Illinois the son of Marcus “Hannie” and Barbara S. (Shoemaker) Phelps. 

Surviving family include his mother, Barbara S. Phelps, Covington; daughter, Rhonda Phelps, Jacksonville, FL; son, Blake Phelps, Terre Haute; two brothers, David A Phelps, Perrysville; Marcus (Leeanna) Phelps, Covington; and several grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father. 

Dickie had been employed as mechanic at the Fountain County Highway Garage. He had enjoyed building and racing stock cars at the Danville and Boswell tracks. He also enjoyed being home and watching races on television.
