Doug Pugh

Richard Douglas “Doug” Pugh, 72, of Madison, IN and formerly of Veedersburg, IN, passed away 3:30 PM Tuesday April 23, 2024, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Doug was born August 26, 1951, in Tuscaloosa, AL, the son of Russell B. and Sue (Kirk) Pugh; his mother married Walter C. Butler when Doug was 3 years old and stepped up to fill the father role for the rest of his life. Doug married Kathy Jo Craig February 12, 1972.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carla Sue Arth.

Surviving family include his wife Kathy Jo Pugh, Madison, IN; a son Richard Troy Pugh, Lafayette, IN; a brother Brooks (Sandy) Pugh, Danville, IL; a stepbrother Danny (Jan) Butler, San Antonio, TX; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Orion Pugh.

Doug graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1969. He was employed at C & D Technologies in Attica, IN for 46 years prior to his retirement in 2013. Some of his favorite activities included spending time with his grandchildren, watching Indiana University and University of Alabama sports, visiting wineries everywhere he travelled, and playing games, like Yahtzee, with family.
