Shirley Darlene Calvin, 75, of Veedersburg IN, passed away 4:28 AM Thursday November 8, 2018 at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville IN. Shirley was born March 18, 1943 in Fairmount, Illinois the daughter of Victor and Cecil (Groves) Keller. She met her husband to be, William Paul Calvin when she was 16 years old; they were married November 18, 1962 and he preceded her in death October 12, 2005. She is also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and six sisters. Surviving family include two daughters, Teresa Darlene (Danny) Hall, Kingman IN; Gwendolyn Calvin (George) Dusek, Pittsboro NC; a sister Audra Delp, Crawfordsville IN; five grandchildren, Alysha (Danny) Smith, Eric Hall, Nicholas Hall, Jacob Dusek, and Isaac Dusek. Shirley had worked as a hairdresser before her daughters were born; and after they were raised she was employed at Culver Union Hospital as unit secretary and resource manager, she had worked there until her retirement. She had attended both Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg and Evergreen United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill NC. She was a member of Tri Kappa and earlier in life had been very active with them. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and researching genealogy. More than anything she loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday November 10, 2018 at First Christian Church 301 North Mill Street Veedersburg IN with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will begin 12:00 PM Saturday at the church and continue until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.
