Steven Lee Hinote Sr.

Steven Lee Hinote Sr., 74, of Veedersburg, IN, passed away 9:29 PM Saturday March 18, 2023 at his residence.

Steve was born January 23, 1949 in Crawfordsville, IN the son of Edward Theo and Gwendolyn May (McCown) Hinote Sr. He married Tammy Sue Hale June 20, 1992 at the United Methodist Church in Battle Ground, IN.

Surviving family include his wife, Tammy Hinote, Veedersburg; three sons, Michael “Tony” (Sara) Hinote, Veedersburg; Steven L. Hinote II; Edward (Autumn) Beard, Attica, IN; two daughters, Nicole (Tommy) Fultz, Churubusco, IN; Sara (Paul Crone) Hinote, Veedersburg; a brother, Timothy (Tamala) Hinote, Rockville, IN; a sister, Sid Wells, Essex, IL; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, two granddaughters, Emma Fultz, Willow Shirar; four brothers, Edward Hinote Jr., Tom Hinote, George Hinote, Larry Hinote; and three sisters, Carmelita Anders, Betty Jill Hinote, DeAdra B. Hinote.

As a young man Steve enlisted to serve his country in the US Army. He was employed at Wabash National in Lafayette, IN for 29 years prior to his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping, and working on his cars out in the garage; more than anything he loved and enjoyed his family. He was a member of the Sterling Christian Church.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday March 22, 2023 at Dickerson Funeral Home 303 N Main St Veedersburg, IN, with Pastor Jason Davis officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home and continue until the time of service. Burial will follow service at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, IN.
