Virginia Lee Miller

Virginia Lee Miller, 86, of Veedersburg, passed away 8:05 AM Friday February 28, 2020 at Signature Healthcare in Lafayette, Indiana.

Virginia was born June 4, 1933 in Veedersburg, IN the daughter of Thomas Gordon and Mildred C. (Robbins) Smith.  She was first married to Hugh Houk, they were blessed with two daughters and he preceded her in death. Her second marriage was to Carlton “Cotton” Miller October 25, 1968 at the Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg. He has preceded her in death.

She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Mindy Ricketts; and five sisters, Fauneil McLean, Katha Hoefle, Marietta Pyle, Betty LaBaw, Denise Jackson.

Surviving family include a daughter, Vanessa (Tim) Priebe, Lafayette; three grandchildren, Tricia (Erik) Seef, Travis (Jayne) Lawson, Kayla Ricketts; a step-grandson Beau (Kelly) Priebe; five great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Linda (Steve) McLean, Covington; Debra Kay Swingle, Veedersburg; Carla Miller, Covington; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Virginia graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1951, she had been a member of New Century Church near Veedersburg. Virginia loved family life and being at home on the farm where she enjoyed crocheting, quilting, flower gardening, and especially enjoyed being outside mowing the lawn. Later in her life she had enjoyed being a product demonstrator and visiting with people at Wal-Mart.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Monday March 2, 2020 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Joe Dodds officiating. Visitation will begin 11:30 AM Monday March 2, 2020 at Dickerson Funeral Home and continue until the time of service.  Burial will be at Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington.
